On the occasion of the Birth Centenary of the Greatest Bengali of thousand years, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the golden jubilee of Independence Day, the year-long celebration of "Mujib Year" has been announced with great enthusiasm. As part of the implementation of the national program, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has also taken various initiatives to celebrate the "Mujib Year".

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has a wide network of horizons to reach passengers to different destinations in the world. With a view to implementing passenger’s expectation on traveling around the world, Biman has 21 aircrafts in its fleet including six brand-new Boeing 787 Dreamliners and three Dash 8-400. The health and safety of our valued passengers has always been our top priority which is expedited and enhanced amidst the current COVID-19 global pandemic. To face the challenge of COVID-19 infection, Biman is closely monitoring and executing advice issued from the World Health Organization (WHO), ICAO, CAAB, IATA and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. As part of these activities, social distancing, use of masks and measurement of body temperature have been ensured. Besides, the aircraft is being completely disinfected after each landing.

Biman’s operational activities never stopped, even in the dire conditions of the COVID-19. Biman has operated for the sake the nation huge number of charter and special flights during this pandemic to bring back and send forth Bangladeshi nationals who were stranded during COVID-19 in various countries and in Bangladesh. Beyond this, notable number of UN Mission Flights have also been operated successfully. It is to be noted that Biman has started operating cargo flights at Dhaka-Guangzhou and Dhaka-Hong Kong routes while maintaining safety during this global epidemic. Recently, direct flights have been launched at Dhaka-Manchester, Dhaka-Medina, Chittagong-Medina and Sylhet-London routes. Flight operation will also be continued by introducing new international routes at Dhaka-Chennai, Dhaka-Tokyo, Dhaka-Toronto and Dhaka-New York in near future. The national flag carrier has planned to increase the frequency on existing routes considering the needs of the valued passengers. As a result, honorable passengers from Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangkok, Kathmandu will avail connecting flights to Japan, London, Toronto and New York within 2-4 hours and Dhaka will be recognized as a regional 'hub'.

In addition, honorable passengers can buy tickets for all destinations by visiting the Biman official website www.biman-airlines.com on their Computer/Laptop/Smart Phone. They can also purchase tickets using Visa, MasterCard and Amex credit or debit cards, and bKash/Nagad. Using this website, passengers will be able to avail all the information related to flight, flight status, flight schedule, address of sales centers, online ticket, refund helpdesk and ticket booking.
